Volunteering at SSIP Food Closet

The Food Closet relies on 10-15 dedicated volunteers each day committed to the mission of providing food to those in the community who are experiencing food insecurity

Our Volunteers

The superheroes of SSIP are the volunteers who have dedicated to SSIP not only hours of service, but extra time running food pick-ups, organizing supply areas, cleaning, running committees for events, office work and so much more. We simply would not be the organization we are without volunteers of their caliber.

“My involvement with SSIP began after seeing Simon on a news clip during the 2021 Thanksgiving holiday.  I volunteered once or twice in December 2021 and have volunteered regularly since January 2022. It is an honor and a privilege to serve and support an organization committed to providing emergency food and resources to our community.  I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the food distribution and client intake process alongside a group of dedicated staff and volunteers.”

Blessings, Dyhana Stewart
