Big Day of Giving 2022

The Big Day of Giving (BDOG) is a program started in 2013 to grow local philanthropy in the Sacramento Region. The BDOG is a 24-hour giving challenge that brings together the region’s nonprofit community to help raise much needed funds and to shine a spotlight on the work nonprofits do to make the Sacramento region the place we love to call home. The SSIP Food Closet returned as a participant on May 5, 2022 along with 717 other local non-profits. During the time window of the event, $13.4 million was raised in the Sacramento Region.

This year, SSIP set a goal of $10,000 and while we are still calculating the donations, we can report with gratitude that we met that goal! All funds raised by SSIP Food Closet during Big Day of Giving help us continue and provide significant support for the food insecure in our community. We are grateful for our donors that continue to participate in these important fundraising events.
