SSIP in the Local News!

In this holiday season many are turning their attention to helping others in need. With this in mind, several of our local news stations have highlighted the ongoing work of the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet, showing people how they can contribute.

Good Day Sacramento visited us on Friday, Nov. 19th, and did a live broadcast on-site, sharing with their viewers the collection and distribution process of the SSIP.

Then, Sol Aureus (also known as Sac Prep) shared the spotlight with SSIP when KCRA News featured their school as part of the KCRA Kids Can! Food Drive. We met them at the school campus to visit with the principal and bring back a huge collection of Kids Can! boxes - about 80 in total! Way to go, Sac Prep!

On December 1, 2021, Eytan Wallace from FOX40 news came to the Food Closet to interview Simon Yeh, the Food Closet Manager, as part of the station's participation in the "Souper Bowl of Caring." Wallace was here with his camera crew collecting footage and comments from volunteers and clients. At the end of his visit, he was so impressed with our work that FOX40 created a segment all about SSIP Food Closet. Watch it below!

Please pass on this good news to friends and family to highlight SSIP’s work in the community!
